Carron Net Company "Net Cutting" for 90th Anniversary
September 25, 2024
On September 24, 1934, a postcard was delivered to 1019 Harbor Street here in Two Rivers, the results of which are still being felt 90 years later. There at that little house on the shore of Lake Michigan, which still stands today, Ed & Errina Carron received an order for a pair of "Superior Basket Ball Goal Nets" from Coach W.C. Schultz from the high school in Delavan, Wisconsin. Those nets, made in the family kitchen, marked the first commercial sale for the fledgling Carron Net Company. Ed & Errina's family business is still thriving and on Tuesday, we celebrated the 90th anniversary of having received that order.
In conjunction with Two Rivers Main Street, we held a "Net Cutting" ceremony joined by our team, family, friends and leaders throughout the community. It was a warm celebration of the persistence & dedication of all who have contributed to the company's success over the years and a rededication to our commitment to our customers. We've come a long way from the corner of 16th & Harbor Streets and are looking forward to a bright future.
