How is a volleyball net made? That's the question which prompted the television show, "Factory Made" to travel to Two Rivers, Wisconsin, recently for a visit to the Carron Net Company.

A crew from the Discovery Channel series, which focuses on the behind-the-scenes work that goes into items used in every day life, spent a day following the manufacture of one of Carron’s Power Volleyball nets from raw material (nylon filament yarn) to finished product.
"It was an extremely enjoyable day,” said Bill Kiel Jr., Carron Net’s President. “The crew was a pleasure to work with and they had an excellent eye for capturing what we do.

They had a monitor set up to watch some of the footage of our machines operating from their high-definition camera. Even our most senior employees said they had never looked at the equipment from those perspectives before."
The crew spent approximately nine hours filming operations at both of Carron’s Two Rivers production facilities, which is expected to be fine-tuned into an approximately 5-6 minute segment to be broadcast as part of the new season of “Factory Made” in early 2010. “This type of national spotlight is unique for us in our seventy-five year history,” said Kiel. “We can’t wait to see it air.”
